This unit of competency covers the functions required to erect basic scaffolding to meet the minimum training and assessment standards for the purposes of certification. This course is designed to provide trainees with the structured training component that, in conjunction with sufficient verifiable practical experience, will prepare students for assessment in the prescribed occupation of Basic Scaffolding (SB).
Course Pre-requisites
Minimum age 18 years
Must wear covered footwear (work boots)
The participant needs to be able to work at heights and perform physical tasks
Lessons:
- Prefabricated scaffolds
- Scaffold associated with perimeter safety screens and shutters
- Cantilevered hoists; ropes; gin wheels
- Safety nets and static lines
- Bracket scaffolds (tank and formwork)
