Course info
Children learn more from play than they do from school. It is crucial to their social, physical and intellectual development. Anyone (parent or landscaper) who develops a landscape that is to be used by children has a responsibility to understand the full implications of what they are creating. This course includes playground philosophy, design of play structures (for function & safety), materials selection, community participation and park design. It would be beneficial for parks mangers or landscape designers.
What will you achieve from this course?
After completing Playground Design you will have the knowledge necessary to plan a park development, including a playground and other facilities. You will have an understanding of legal implications involved in the design of a playground as well as how to manage appropriate community participation in development of a park or playground.
