This qualification provides the skills for an individual to be competent in a range of activities and functions within the fitness industry, including working independently in a broad range of settings, such as within fitness centres, gyms, pools, community facilities and in open spaces.
Those with this level of competency will have the ability to plan, conduct and evaluate exercise training, provide leadership and guidance to clients and other staff and possibly deal with unpredictable situations.
Exercise Trainers will have the ability to monitor and manage business activities to operate efficiently and profitably.
- Pre-requisite required – SIS30310 Certificate Ill in Fitness

Note: SIS40210 Certificate IV in Fitness is required to be a personal trainer
Delivery mode
Distance/Blended Students successfully complete the theory booklets, reflections, workplace supervisor completes 3rd party feedback forms, may be followed by an onsite practical assessment or equivalent and or interview with trainer/assessor

Assessment is comprised of written tasks, practical demonstrations and 3rd party observations.

Recognition of Prior learning (RPL) is “the acknowledgement of the skills and knowledge” that you have gained through previous studies, work and life experiences. If RPL is granted, this will mean that you will not have to complete the study or assessments for a unit or units of competency.
How long does the course take?
You, the student, are completely in control of your own learning schedule. Learning online allows you the freedom to study at home, during your lunch break or from anywhere in the world.
