This brochure is for those trainers and assessors who possess the knowledge and
Skills to attain the TAE40110 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment through the recognition of prior learning (RPL) process.
This qualification reflects the roles of individuals delivering training and assessment services in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.
Achievement of this qualification or an equivalent by trainers and assessors is a requirement of the Australian Quality Training Framework Essential Standards for Registration (Standard 1 as outlined in Appendix 2 of the Users' Guide to the essential Standards for Registration).
This qualification, or the skill sets derived from units of competency within it, is also suitable preparation for those engaged in the delivery of training and assessment of competence in a workplace context, as a component of a structured VET program.
Job Roles:
- TAFE trainer and assessor;
- Registered Training Organisation (RTO) trainer and assessor;
- Vocational education teacher; or an
- Accredited workplace trainer and assessor.
Delivery mode
This RPL assessment is conducted online and is heavily supported by trainers Monday to Saturday.

Assessment
Assessment is comprised of written tasks, practical demonstrations and 3rd party observations.
How to gain your qualification faster
Recognition of Prior learning (RPL) is “the acknowledgement of the skills and knowledge” that you have gained through previous studies, work and life experiences. If RPL is granted, this will mean that you will not have to complete the study or assessments for a unit or units of competency.
How long does the course take?
You, the student, are completely in control of your own learning schedule. Learning online allows you the freedom to study at home, during your lunch break or from anywhere in the world.
