The Childcare Industry has changed their legislation effective 01st January, 2012 and as such all Childcare Workers are required to hold as a minimum the Certificate III (or currently be enrolled) and all Group Leaders must hold the Diploma in Children’s Services (or currently enrolled).
This qualification covers workers in children’s services who are responsible for planning, implementing and managing programs in early childhood services, in accordance with licensing, accreditation and duty of care requirements. At this level:
- Workers have responsibility for supervision of other staff and volunteers
- In most states it is the highest qualification required at director or service manager level for children’s service centre-based care.

Assessment
Assessment is comprised of written tasks, practical demonstrations and 3rd party observations.
How to gain your qualification faster
Recognition of Prior learning (RPL) is “the acknowledgement of the skills and knowledge” that you have gained through previous studies, work and life experiences. If RPL is granted, this will mean that you will not have to complete the study or assessments for a unit or units of competency.
How long does the course take?
You, the student, are completely in control of your own learning schedule. Learning online allows you the freedom to study at home, during your lunch break or from anywhere in the world.
