This is an introductory subject that aims to develop your ability to manage the selection, operation and maintenance of tools and machinery. It has a particular reference to professional gardening, agriculture and horticulture. You will learn the use and operation of tools, equipment and machines and how to keep them running smoothly by yourself!

What will you achieve from this course?

After completing Machinery and Equipment you will have the knowledge necessary to carry out the safe and effective operation of different hand tools, power tools and tractors in horticultural and agricultural situations.  You will understand the maintenance procedures for different equipment as well as which equipment is appropriate for minimum work requirements in an agricultural or horticultural workplace.
