Within the Queensland Responsible Gambling Code of Practice 2004 it states that the gambling industry is required to establish mechanisms to ensure that appropriate and ongoing responsible gambling training is provided to staff who provide gambling products to customers. For staff occupying supervisory positions at licensed premises in Western Australia it is mandatory to complete the nationally accredited unit of competency Provide responsible service of alcohol. All servers of liquor on licensed premises must also complete an approved training course in the responsible service of alcohol, however, these staff may choose to undertake the non-accredited version of the course or undertake the nationally accredited unit of competency referred to above.
