This is a specialist qualification, providing an opportunity for persons who already hold broad based qualifications (or significant experience), to undertake a combination of studies and work experience in a specialised area of psychology.
To obtain a Proficiency Award in Psychology you must complete 1 core module, your choice of 2 elective modules, and a workplace project or work experience equal to 200 hours duration.

Work Experience/Workplace Project
If you work in the Psychology industry you may submit a reference from your employer in an effort to satisfy the workplace project requirement on the basis of recognition for prior learning achieved through your current and past work experience.
If you do not work in the Psychology industry, you will need to undertake a 200 hour workplace project, or two 100 hour projects. The project is based on applications in the workplace and specifically aims to provide you with the opportunity to apply and integrate skills and knowledge developed through various areas of this course. You will design this project in consultation with a tutor to involve industry based activities in the area of specialized study which you select to follow.

This course is available to be completed either online, via E-learning or by correspondence.
